History

Located in Columbus, Ohio, Battelle for Kids was established through a partnership with the Ohio Business Roundtable and supported by an initial grant from the Battelle Memorial Institute. The organization was created in 2001 to champion improved student achievement in Ohio by supporting, accelerating and sustaining standards-based education.

Today, Battelle for Kids is an independent, not-for-profit organization that continues to receive charitable contributions and government grants to support major education-related initiatives and research.

Responding to the growing demand around school improvement, Battelle for Kids expanded its services in 2005 to offer a wide array of professional development, consulting and training, innovative instructional tools, data management and technology services, research and evaluation services and strategic communications counsel to educators nationwide.
