High School Value-Added Project

Battelle for Kids is taking important steps to use value-added analysis at the high school level by creating a longitudinal database of high school student records with a group of SOAR districts.

This database will be mined to study the way education is delivered in high schools and use this information to improve student achievement by uncovering the critical factors that lead to success.

Battelle for Kids secured funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop this database, which is the project’s Phase I.

Tied to this effort in Ohio and many other states is the need for common high school assessments, which is the project’s Phase II.
